Football Beyond Borders x Wellness Kits Workshop
In December 2019, Wellness Kits had the pleasure of collaborating with Football Beyond Borders, to produce 50 special edition bags.
FBB is an education and social inclusion charity that uses the power of football to inspire young people across the UK. They do this by providing long-term, intensive support, built around relationships and young people’s passions, in the classroom and beyond.
On the 19th December, we came together to host a workshop for 13 of FBB's young people, where we learnt about homelessness and worked together to organise all the donations we had collected for the project.
The workshop was broken down in to four areas:
Beggars can(’t) be choosers - Based on challenging stereotypes and myth busting.
Needs vs. Wants - To show that ultimately all humans have the same needs, physical and emotional. Wants differ based on the person, it’s what makes us unique and the lesson is to not take that away from anyone just because they are homeless.
Approaching role play - To encourage empathy and open mindedness.
Care package sorting - Organising donations in to categories to ease the counting and packing process.
Thanks to FBB, we had the pleasure of West Ham's Michail Antonio attending the workshop which was a major highlight for the participants.
The purpose behind this collaboration was to instil the core values of giving back and helping others in to the future generation. It was an extremely rewarding experience for everyone involved and we'd like to thank FBB once again for making this happen!
